I believe creativity is fundamental to our well being. You can do more than you thought was possible with the right support and encouragement. But it takes a gear change. Stepping up doesn’t have to mean you lose the enjoyment you have in your work.
In fact, knowing you are making steady progress gives you the energy and resolve to keep going. It’s exciting! You can start from wherever you are and create your own parameters for what success looks like. Energy and inspiration comes from surprising yourself and always learning and taking new risks.
Confidence comes from finding the right path where YOU feel comfortable with your own process. From there it becomes easy to share and find an audience who love what you do.
There are three key pillars to growing your business as an artist.
1. STUDIO: making the work itself - (because everything is about the art !) making it the best you can, understanding how to track your progress and how you work best
2. SUPPORT: helping you with the structure you need to make sales.I believe in using social media naturally to grow your audience as you grow. From a reassuring and convincing website to cataloguing your work and setting intentions so you feel organised and on track.
3. SELF: Knowing yourself is essential, because you are at the core of this more than in any other business. Art is the greatest guide to your own development, and it's this essence others will respond to. This isn't like any other business course. Relax - this can be gentle and feel good!
These key areas are all connected - sometimes you may be in a position to work on one area more than the other… but keeping them in balance is a key principle. How we cover this will change in reflection of our community but includes:

If you join monthly you can leave any time you choose. Building a creative business is not an overnight thing but I want you to have a flexible option. Stay for as long as you enjoy the support and training.

This group is for you if you are ready to expand your art practice, and the business of bringing it to an audience. If you wish to enjoy your art purely for personal fun, then you may not benefit from all the content.
If you are already established then you know there is always something to do next! Once you have the basics in place you are ready to build on that and become more strategic in your approach.
I believe developing an art practice takes time. It's not something you can do by following a set of instructions. However, there are key things which are essential to help you grow. What I want for you is to develop YOUR personal manifesto: whether that includes reviewing your website, using Pinterest to bring you leads to your website or understanding your pricing we can discuss that.
This is a group membership. That group is part of the strength, however the Studio Chat sessions and the FB group offer a way for you to post your questions and receive feedback. Currently we are just 67 members.
Probably not. We do talk about art (obvs!) but this isn't painting instruction. You've had that within CVP and most (not all) members are also alumni. I want to help you grow your artist presence because I believe that can be an equally rewarding part of our creative lives. If you are looking for art courses or workshops or 'how to paint' this may not be right for you.
Anyone is welcome and we have members across Europe, Canada, South Africa to Australia. Some of what we discuss may have more resonance in the UK market, but overall the direction will be the same for everyone. At current rates £39 is around US$47

My name is Alice Sheridan and I hope by now you know me pretty well!. In which case you already know my style; informal and pretty straightforward. I've been showing and selling my art for almost a decade. Things have changed in that time. A lot!
But it was only when I really decided to commit to my art practice that things really shifted. I didn't want to wake up in 20 years time and wonder "what if?"
